Mediation:

People may agree to mediate custody, access, support or property. A trained mediator will work as an independent and neutral third party, in private meetings with them (and other necessary people), to try to reach an agreement.

Mediation may be either open or closed and this decision will be carefully discussed before the choice is made.

In Middlesex County, court-attached mediation services are available through The Family Mediation Centre, on a sliding-fee basis.

Mediation may be entered into at any time during the court proceedings, even when a trial date has been set.
