Alternative dispute resolution (ADR)

Arbitration:

Someone other than a judge may be chosen by the parties, and hired as an arbitrator to decide any matter referred to him/her. The rules of the hearing must be agreed to in advance and the arbitrator's decision may become a court order, if filed with the court.
